Welcome to Gamers Who Give Foundation. I am so excited to introduce this organization, share why it was created, and invite you to be part of what we are building.
My name is Brooke Lindley, and I founded Gamers Who Give Foundation with a simple belief: gaming can be more than something we do for fun. Gaming can bring people together. It can build friendships, create belonging, spark creativity, and remind us that teamwork matters. I wanted to take that same energy and use it to support something bigger in our local community.
Gamers Who Give was created to turn play into purpose. Based in Kalamazoo, our organization brings gamers together through quarterly fundraising meetings and community events. These gatherings are designed to be fun, welcoming, and meaningful. Whether you play video games, board games, tabletop games, card games, role-playing games, or just love the gaming community, there is a place for you here.
Our mission is simple. Gamers Who Give Foundation turns play into purpose by bringing gamers together to create opportunities and support youth, families, and community-centered causes. Our vision is clear. We envision a future where gaming is recognized as a powerful force for generosity, connection, and community change.
Right now, our work is centered around two main giving efforts: Summer camp opportunity and Holiday Giving.
Our Summer camp opportunity will focus on creating opportunities for youth to attend a summer camp that helps young people access leadership, technology, or gaming design experiences that allow them to explore their interests, build confidence, and imagine new possibilities for their future. Gaming can open doors to creativity, problem-solving, storytelling, design, and leadership. We want to help youth see those possibilities for themselves.
Our Holiday Giving initiative will focus on supporting families during the holiday season. Through this initiative, we partner with a local organization in Kalamazoo and provide gifts, essentials, and care to families who could use extra support during the holiday season. For us, this is about making sure generosity feels personal, local, and connected to real needs in our community.
I created Gamers Who Give because I believed there are so many people who want to give back, but they may not always know where to start. I also believe gamers are often underestimated. Gaming communities are full of people who are creative, generous, strategic, compassionate, and deeply connected to one another. This organization is a way to bring those strengths together and show what is possible when gamers use their passion for good.
Gamers Who Give Foundation is not just about fundraising. We are about community. We are about creating a space where people can gather, connect, have fun, and make a difference together. It is about proving that play and purpose belong together.
As we grow, we invite you to join us. Attend a quarterly meeting. Sign up for our newsletter. Share our mission. Donate. Bring a friend. Help us imagine what this organization can become.
This is just the beginning, and I am grateful you are here. Together, we can game together, give together, and build something meaningful.
Sincerely,
Brooke
